UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital & Medical Center at Mission Bay | San Francisco, CA

$25.00

CSWST2 served as the civil engineering lead for the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, a transformative healthcare campus that integrates pediatric, cancer, and women’s health services within a dense urban research environment. The project includes UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Bakar Cancer Hospital, and Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital, supported by shared diagnostic and service facilities.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, CSWST2 delivered comprehensive site and infrastructure engineering, including grading, utilities, drainage and stormwater management, roadway and site circulation, and coordination with surrounding city infrastructure. The work required extensive agency coordination and compliance with stringent healthcare facility standards.

A defining feature of the campus is the integration of patient-accessible outdoor spaces, rooftop and terrace gardens, and stormwater treatment systems that support both sustainability and healing environments. The project reflects CSWST2’s experience delivering complex civil infrastructure for large-scale healthcare facilities in highly constrained urban settings.
