Richmond Wellness Trail | Richmond, CA
CSWST2 supported the City of Richmond in the development of Phase 1 of the Richmond Wellness Trail, a 1.1-mile multi-use corridor connecting Richmond BART to the future ferry terminal. The project serves the Iron Triangle and Coronado neighborhoods, expanding access to active transportation while strengthening neighborhood connections and public health outcomes.
The trail incorporates pedestrian and bicycle facilities, green infrastructure, increased tree canopy, low water-use landscaping, and wayfinding and interpretive elements. Buffers along the corridor include linear rain gardens designed to improve stormwater quality while enhancing the user experience.
Through integrated civil and landscape design, the project advances equitable access to outdoor recreation and supports long-term watershed health within an urban environment.
