CSWST2 supported the City of Hercules in advancing segments of the San Francisco Bay Trail, contributing to a regional effort to complete a continuous shoreline trail around the Bay. The project improves public access to the waterfront while navigating complex physical and regulatory constraints.
The work included planning and design of trail alignments adjacent to active railroad corridors, steep slopes, and sensitive environmental resources. CSWST2 evaluated alternatives, addressed grading and drainage challenges, and coordinated infrastructure improvements to support safe and resilient trail connections.
The project enhances regional connectivity while reinforcing Hercules’ commitment to expanding public access along its shoreline.
