Port of Richmond Storm Drain Repairs | Richmond, CA

$25.00

CSWST2 has served as the contract Port Engineer for the Port of Richmond for more than a decade, supporting the rehabilitation of aging stormwater infrastructure within the historic Point Potrero Terminal. Much of the underground system dates back to the early 1940s and has deteriorated over time, contributing to sinkholes and operational risks across the 130-acre facility.

CSWST2 mapped the storm drain network, assessed pipeline conditions, and developed a phased restoration strategy. Due to the presence of environmental caps and active port operations, repairs were implemented using trenchless methods, including cured-in-place pipe lining and insertion of high-density polyethylene liners. Sinkholes were addressed through targeted polyurethane injection grouting.

This ongoing effort improves safety, protects historic infrastructure, and supports continued port operations through resilient, minimally disruptive repair strategies.
