CSWST2 Begins Work on East Palo Alto’s University Avenue Grand Corridor

We’re excited to begin our partnership with the City of East Palo Alto on the University Avenue Grand Corridor—a transformative project to plan and design one of the city’s most vital transportation corridors.

University Avenue connects neighborhoods, schools, parks, civic institutions, and local businesses. It is a central thread in the community’s daily life and a key connector within the region. Through thoughtful design and inclusive engagement, this effort will help realize a long-term vision for a corridor that supports all modes of travel, reflects the city’s identity, and fosters opportunities for future investment.

Our team—led by Project Manager Julia Harberson and Urban Planner Jessie Maran—will be working closely with City staff, community members, and stakeholders throughout this process. The planning and design effort includes public engagement, multimodal street design, right-of-way coordination, and environmental clearances—culminating in a complete PS&E package for future construction.

We’re honored to support this important effort and look forward to walking this path alongside the East Palo Alto community.
