As a member of the selected architect team, CSW|ST2 provided civil engineering design for the Cardiovascular Research Institute Building at the Mission Bay Campus of UCSF. The project covers blocks 17A & B and offers multiple civil engineering challenges, including accommodation for continuing site settlement and routing for the utilities required to support medical research. The facility is roughly 232,000 sq. ft. and is estimated to cost $180 million. The program includes open wet labs, lab support space, offices, a vivarium and an outpatient facility.
