CSW/ST2 prepared grading, drainage, and utility plans for modular buildings that will serve as temporary classrooms and administrative space while permanent campus buildings are upgraded. Specific design challenges were differential settlement and sewage conveyance. The site, which is in a swale underlain by bay mud, required a careful grading plan, based primarily on cut, to minimize the differential settlement. After considering several pumping options, a 2,500 gallon holding tank and grinder pump were selected to convey sewage into the existing College facilities.
