Oakmont Senior Living – Alameda, California.
This three story senior housing/assisted living project is located near historic Jack London Square in Alameda, California. The completed project will provide seniors with housing, movie theaters, activity areas, meal facilities and a large landscaped central courtyard. The structural system features a concrete mat first floor slab with driven piles and provided the contractor with increased efficiency in driving the piles in a rectilinear pattern rather than placing the piles directly below load bearing walls. Due to its location near the bay, the project required special design solutions caused by soil conditions.
