CSW|ST2 provided initial site planning in conjunction with TWM Architects to locate multiple buildings and provide housing for several hundred students. The site featured challenging topography and riparian constraints such as streams and tree forests. The design team integrated the buildings, services, and parking to minimize site work, while blending the new buildings into their residential neighborhood. Design features included buildings stepped to follow the land forms, minimal underground site drainage incorporating bioswales, overland flow and surface control of runoff, and discharging surface runoff from pavements into vegetated areas for pre-filtering prior to joining stream runoff.
